We Rise Initiative: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs Globally

Context:
On the occasion of promoting women-led development and inclusive economic growth, NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), in collaboration with DP World, launched the ‘We Rise – Women Entrepreneurs Reimagining Inclusive and Sustainable Enterprises’ initiative. The program is designed to identify, mentor, and scale high-potential women-led MSMEs into export-ready enterprises, contributing to India’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.


About the We Rise Initiative:

1. What It Is:

  • A joint public–private initiative under WEP’s Award to Reward (ATR) framework.
  • Focused on nurturing women-led MSMEs to achieve global competitiveness and export readiness.

2. Launched By:

  • NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP).
  • DP World, a global leader in logistics and supply chain management.

3. Aim:

  • To scale women-led businesses globally through:
    • Trade facilitation
    • Strategic mentorship
    • Capacity-building programs
    • Access to international value chains
  • To align with the Government’s vision of women-led inclusive economic growth.

4. Key Features:

  • Global Expansion Support:
    • Mentorship for 100 women entrepreneurs to prepare them for export readiness and international business operations.
  • Market Access:
    • Selected participants will showcase products at Bharat Mart (Dubai), a global B2B and B2C marketplace within the Jebel Ali Free Zone.
  • Strategic Mentorship:
    • Provides customized guidance on trade compliance, branding, and cross-border logistics leveraging DP World’s global expertise.
  • Public-Private Partnership Model:
    • Integrates WEP’s ecosystem of 90,000+ women entrepreneurs with DP World’s trade infrastructure.
  • Plug-and-Play Collaboration (ATR):
    • Enables scalable partnerships addressing finance, market linkages, legal support, and business growth challenges.

Significance:

  • Empowers women exporters and strengthens India’s women-led MSME ecosystem.
  • Promotes global trade participation of Indian women entrepreneurs.
  • Contributes to the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 by supporting inclusive, sustainable, and scalable economic growth.
