The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched TribeX, an innovative digital learning platform aimed at preserving, promoting, and disseminating India’s tribal heritage, indigenous knowledge systems, and traditional skills through technology.

What is TribeX?

• TribeX is a first-of-its-kind national digital learning platform dedicated to India’s tribal arts, culture, languages, crafts, and traditional knowledge.
• It serves as a centralized online repository and learning ecosystem, allowing learners, researchers, educators, and enthusiasts across the world to access authentic tribal knowledge.
• The platform enables tribal artisans, practitioners, and knowledge holders to share their expertise through structured digital courses.

Free Certificate Courses

• Offers around 20 free certificate courses covering tribal paintings, handicrafts, handloom traditions, folk music, bamboo crafts, and other indigenous art forms.
• The platform aims to expand its catalogue to over 100 specialized courses in the coming years.

Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

• Provides five UGC-recognized one-year hybrid Postgraduate Diploma programmes through a collaboration with Sampurnanand Sanskrit University (SSU), Varanasi.
• These programmes combine online learning with classroom interaction and practical field experience.

• Supported by a secure Repository Management System for systematic documentation and long-term preservation of tribal knowledge resources.

Digital Heritage Repository

• Houses more than 5,000 multimedia resources, with plans to expand beyond 10,000.
• Includes documentary films, audio recordings, photographs, traditional songs, oral histories, cultural practices, festivals, rituals, manuscripts, and verified literature collected from tribal communities across India.
